Gov. Josh Shapiro signed an executive order aiming to make the commonwealth one of the best employers in Pennsylvania.
The executive order creates the Hire, Improve, Recruit, Empower (HIRE) Committee in partnership with labor representatives and hopes to attract Pennsylvania residents into public service.
The commonwealth will look to expand mental health services, child care services, and sick leave for state employees and it also expands the availability of free menstrual products in state owned buildings.
