President Donald Trump has issued a glowing endorsement of Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity in her bid to become the commonwealth’s governor, saying she is a “true America First Patriot.”
In a Truth Social post Jan. 27, Trump lauded Garrity’s credentials as a former U.S. Army Reserve officer and businesswoman. As governor, he said, she would “work tirelessly” to grow the economy, cut taxes, expand energy production and “Ensure LAW AND ORDER.”
Garrity is campaigning to unseat Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro, whom she described in a social media post as “President Trump’s number one adversary.”
Shapiro has taken the Trump administration to court on a number of occasions in the past year, fighting to unfreeze billions of dollars in federal funding and to restore suspended food stamp benefits in November 2025.
The Democratic Governors Association blasted Garrity for “going full MAGA” to bag the Trump endorsement.
“She is a mediocre candidate running a mediocre campaign, and no endorsement in the world will change that,” DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy said in a statement.
