On Monday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf expanded the list of counties under a stay-at-home order to 26. Starting at 8 p.m. tonight, residents in Carbon, Cumberland, Dauphin and Schuylkill counties are ordered to remain home at least through April 30.
The governor also announced that Pennsylvania schools, which were shuttered in mid-March, will remain closed until further notice.
“We’re going to keep schools and businesses closed for as long as we need to keep them closed to keep Pennsylvania safe,” Wolf said in a press conference Monday afternoon. “Right now it isn’t safe.”
As of Monday afternoon, there were 4,087 confirmed cases of coronavirus cases in the state; 48 people have died from the virus. The majority of cases are among people between the ages of 25 and 49.
