Here’s what we know about the upcoming 800th episode of “The Simpsons,” which finds America’s favorite animated family traveling to The City of Brotherly Love.
Sunday, Feb. 15, will be a big day for fans of “The Simpsons,” as the long-running FOX animated series will air its 800th episode.
It will be an even bigger day for “Simpsons” fans in the D’oh-laware Valley (sorry, I couldn’t resist), as the episode will be set in Philadelphia.
But why are Homer and Marge bringing the family to Philly? Here’s everything we know about the episode so far, according to FOX:
The Plotline
In the episode, entitled “Irrational Treasure” (an homage to the 2004 Nicolas Cage Philly-set and filmed movie “National Treasure”), Marge and Homer become mixed up in a “historical conspiracy adventure” as they try to get the family dog, Santa’s Little Helper, ready for the Philadelphia Dog Show.
What famous Philadelphians appear in the episode?
The episode will feature “Abbott Elementary” creator and star Quinta Brunson, who voices a character named Adrienne, along with Kevin Bacon, who plays a concierge.
On the musical front, The Roots will appear, and drummer Amir “Questlove” Thompson plays a tour guide. Boyz II Men perform new versions of the show’s iconic opening and closing music.
Any other notable guest stars in the episode?
Yes, Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, and Taylor Dearden of “The Pitt” will voice health care workers.
Will we see any famous Philly landmarks in the episode?
The only ones we know of so far are the legendary cheesesteak spots depicted in the promotional image above: Geno’s Steaks and Pat’s King of Steaks.
