The Trump campaign is asking for an expedited appeal hearing, in an attempt to overturn a lower court ruling before the state certifies election results.

Gov. Tom Wolf will approve it, his office said.

The mail-in ballots could make a difference in the 45th state Senate District race, where incumbent Democrat Jim Brewster and Republican Nicole Ziccarelli are separated by a few thousand votes.

The Trump campaign revised the lawsuit; state lawyers said the revised lawsuit contains no “plausible claim for relief on any legal theory.”

The ballots were found in two separate mail processing facilities and will be delivered to local election offices.

Pennsylvania emerged as a hot spot for online misinformation on Election Day. Facebook and Twitter scrambled to take down false posts about polling locations.

President Trump and his campaign are signaling they will pursue an aggressive legal strategy to try to prevent Pennsylvania from counting mailed ballots received after the election.

“Black voters are showing up in ways that they did not in 2016 and we can take heart in that,” said the executive director of BlackPAC.

Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, the state’s top election official, has asked federal postal authorities to investigate.
