Despite defending his voting record, one legislative tracker shows the US Sen. John Fetterman sided with President Donald Trump and Republicans 26% of the time.
US Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) ended 2025 just as it began, by serving as President Donald Trump’s favorite Democrat in the upper chamber.
A legislative tracker found that Fetterman voted in support of Trump and the Republican Party 26% of the time since he retook office.
Fetterman sided with Trump and the Republicans over 140 times, with US Sens. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Jean Shaheen (D-NH) finishing the year in distant second and third places respectively.
“I vote a 91% Democratic line, and if Democrats have a problem with somebody that votes 91% of the same times as you are, more than nine out of 10 times, then maybe our party has a bigger problem,” Fetterman told CBS News defending his voting record in an interview earlier this year.
Fetterman started 2025 as the only Democrat to visit Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort, which drew the ire of Democratic voters after supporting a number of Trump’s cabinet appointees.
Those picks include Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Fetterman was the only Democrat who voted in favor of Bondi’s nomination despite the fact that Bondi worked with President Donald Trump to overturn Pennsylvania’s 2020 election results.
