A winter weather advisory is in place for northern Erie County until Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m.
Meanwhile, a lake-effect snow warning is in place for southern Erie County until Nov. 11 at 1 p.m.

How much snow will Erie County get?
The weather service reports an additional 3 inches to 5 inches of snow could fall in places in northern Erie County before the advisory expires. Snowfall rate could be up to an inch per hour in the strongest bands, especially the night of Monday, Nov. 10.
In southern Erie County, including but not limited to Edinboro, Union City and Corry, heavy lake-effect snow could accumulate 5 inches to 8 inches.
Road conditions could become slippery. The weather service also warns of the potential for tree damage and power outages because of the combined weight of wet snow and remaining leaves on trees.

What is the Erie-area weather forecast?
The weather service calls for an 80% chance of precipitation in Erie Nov. 10, when the high temperature will be around 35 degrees. Snow is forecast mainly before 1 p.m., accumulating up to half an inch. Winds will be from the north at 11 mph to 13 mph.
The nighttime low will be near 29. Chance of precipitation is 90% at night, with new accumulations of 2 inches to 4 inches of snow possible. Winds will shift to northwest at 10 mph to 15 mph.
On Veterans Day, there is a 90% chance of rain and snow. The high will be near 41 and winds will be from the west at 16-18 mph, gusting as high as 29 mph. An additional inch of snow is possible.
Rain is likely late the night of Nov. 11, possibly mixed with snow and becoming all rain after 4 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. The low will be around 31.
The high Nov. 12 will be around 45, with a 90% chance of rain in the forecast.
The forecast for Edinboro calls for 3 inches to 7 inches of new snow the night of Nov. 11 and the possibility of an inch to 3 inches more snowfall on Veterans Day. Corry could see 3 inches to 5 inches of snow the night of Nov. 11.
