The Biden-Harris campaign launched Veterans for Biden-Harris across Pennsylvania on Wednesday to help recruit veterans, service members and military families to support President Joe Biden’s reelection efforts.

Democrats launched their statewide Veterans for Biden-Harris initiative at a press conference in Carlisle on Wednesday bringing together a coalition of veterans, service members and military families to reelect President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris

“We’re here today because veterans and service members know better than anyone how dangerous a second Donald Trump administration would be for our democracy and the freedoms that we fought to protect,” John Flood, a Navy veteran and candidate for the Pennsylvania House (HD-87), said on Wednesday.

“There’s a clear choice in this election in November between Trump, who insults fallen soldiers and wants to strip back our veterans’ benefits that we’ve earned, and President Biden, a military father who spent his career fighting for little guys like us.”

Flood was joined by veterans Mike O’Brien and Rick Copeland, both of whom fell short in the most recent Democratic primary for Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District.

The Biden-Harris campaign launched the Veterans for Biden-Harris campaign earlier this week in key battleground states throughout the country to tout the President’s achievements for veterans.

This includes signing the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, extending Veterans Assistance (VA) health care benefits for those exposed to harmful toxins and expanding efforts to help veterans deal with mental health issues and prevent veteran suicides.

All three veterans spoke out against former president Donald Trump for insulting those who died during combat. During his term as president, Trump reportedly called fallen soldiers “suckers” and “losers,” according to The Atlantic.

“We have a choice before us in November between two individuals, two men. One of them, Joe Biden, is a man of character, integrity and empathy—someone who actually cares. On the other side, we have Donald Trump, [who] is a man of lies and corruption,” O’Brien said.

“He called veterans ‘losers’ and ‘suckers’, he said that to the people who died protecting this country. This November, we will vote for the candidate who has honored our service, not the candidate who has spat in our faces.”
